A little presentation before:
For 20 years the world of wine has convened at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles
Founded in 1994, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles has since then attained the status of a world wine tasting ‘championship’. Over 8,300 wines and spirits competing from around the world represent combined sales in excess of 500 million bottles.
The trade-only judging panel at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles consists of foremost international experts. It represents almost forty nationalities and this diversity contributes to the uniqueness of the event. Only those wines and spirits that have achieved the highest scores are eligible for the prestigious medals.
The 20th Concours Mondial de Bruxelles will take place on May 10, 11 and 12, 2013 in Bratislava (Slovakia). This is the competition’s first foray into Central Europe.
New closing date for entries and for sample receipt: Friday March 22, 2013
Thank you so much for giving me this chance!
What a good start for this year! In February 2013, so few weeks back, I was nicely invited to attend the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles as a judge. When I received the email I was so happy. For the first time, I will be able and pleased to attend one of the biggest world wine event.
I will see and discover a new face of the wine planet, it will for sure allows me to enrich my knowledge and skills. As Sommelier and taster I have already attended a lot of wine events in different countries.
Since the beginning this wine competition was taking place in Brussels.
Growing and successfully it often takes place abroad in Europe, in Maastricht in 2007, Bordeaux in 2008, Valencia in 2009, Palermo in 2010, Luxembourg in 2011, Portugal in 2012 and this year will be held in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Already organizing tastings, helping in different events, and travelling as much as I can this experience will bring me a lot. From what I heard, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is one of the best wine competitions when it comes to final consumer and organization!
During my work, conferences, tastings and trips I use to taste a lot of wine but never no give medals, which I think in this case is really good for producer and consumers, because of the very large amount and panel of wine tasted and the large range of judges.
They come from over 40 countries, so really international. All winelovers, wine professionals, journalist, and so on sharing the same interest and passion… As we say diversity make richness and accuracy! All looking for quality and great wines!
I know this is going to be hard work, but I really look forward to it!
Also will allow me to meet a lot of great and also very influential people in the wine world!
Tasters, chairman around themed wine flights to taste and note wines.
The winners will be awarded Medals, either Silver, Gold or Great Gold.
Very looking forward to this new experience, will bring all my best! And thanks again for giving me this opportunity and believing in me!
See you there folks !!
