All this pictures are here for an educational purpose and to learn more about wine, vine and all its world.

Here follows a collection of images, from Traité général de viticulture, writen in 7 volumes,

by Viala and Vermorel – determined as Ampelography.

It covers 5,200 grapes and illustrate little bit over 500 grape varieties.

I don’t own the rights on all this images but share them for educational purpose !

Viala and Vermorel The Ampelography entered the public domain since February 11, 2011. Viala, the last entitled, died February 11, 1936, co-author Vermorel in 1926 illustrators Alexis Kreder, Jules Troncy in 1912 and in 1915. The result is that 500 boards varieties are now being used on Commons copyright free.
